Software Engineer. Avid Reader. Plant Collector.

I write software for a living. Seven years of it, and I'm good at what I do. Office hours and I like the structure. When the laptop closes for the day it stays closed. Evenings go to books, plants, or a long D&D session when I can find decent company. I've read over a hundred books and I'm nowhere near done. Two favourites: Pratchett for the warmth, Lovecraft for the dread. I don't smoke.

I have twenty-something houseplants and a genuine fondness for spiders. If you live with me you'll come to appreciate them, or at least leave them alone. When I walk in parks and forests I pick up litter. Not a campaign, just something I've never been able to walk past. Most of my closest friends are considerably older than me. I've always found people with some history behind them easier to talk to than people my own age.

I take a traditional role in a relationship: I lead, I provide, I protect. But I'm not looking for a woman who disappears into my life. I want to know what she thinks. Her opinions, her taste, her take on the book I just finished. The dynamic I want is one where she is mine and I am hers, not a one-way arrangement. I want a woman who takes care of the home and means it, and who also has a mind she uses. I have a soft spot for women who still carry a childlike side: playful, unguarded, not yet hardened by the world. I will protect that, not smother it. What I give back is complete loyalty, financial stability, and a man who is genuinely interested in the person he chose. If your parents are part of your life, I want to be part of that eventually. I'd look after them, not out of obligation, but because what's mine, I protect.
